The Professional Weather Watcher
The Story
He is serious about the weather. He wanted weather readings that could be reported to NOAA and CWOP. He liked the Vantage Vue, but chose the Vantage Pro2 system so that he could mount the anemometer on a 30' tower while keeping his rain and other sensors at 6'. He knew a Davis weather station would be durable—a very important fact because he lives where summers are hot, winters are snowy, and the hurricane force winds are a late summer highlight. He chose the Vantage Pro2 with 24-hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield and added a Rain Collector Heater. Living where weather can do some serious damage, he wanted to help his community prepare for severe weather via his web site and his ham radio, so he added WeatherLinkIP. He wanted to see his data in the living room as well as in his radio shack, so he added a Vantage Vue console. He also wanted to monitor the temperature of the pond that is 1500 feet from his back deck, so his latest addition to his system was a wireless Temperature/Humidity Station and a standard wireless repeater.
