Software Support: Daylight Savings Time

NOTE: The Daylight Savings Time changes described here only affect users in the United States and Canada. These changes will not affect customers in other parts of the world.
Daylight Savings is coming early this year, March 11, 2007 (spring forward one hour). If you are in a region that uses Daylight Savings Time, review this page for information on updating your firmware and software.
Will your weather station be prepared for Daylight Savings? Below is a synopsis of what capabilities your system has and what you can do about it. Console firmware is critical to getting the time changed appropriately. The correct console time will also affect all data downloaded into the WeatherLink software.
To determine your current console firmware revision: On all Vantage Pro and Vantage Pro2 models, press and hold "DONE" and press the up arrow (+) at the same time. The revision that is installed will scroll across the bottom of the display screen.

Vantage Pro2 Wireless
If your Vantage Pro2 has firmware dated November 28, 2005 or later, your console is prepared for the new daylight savings schedule. As long as your console is set to "Daylight Savings - Auto," the console will display the correct time following the new standard
If your Vantage Pro2 has firmware dated earlier than November 28, 2005 you will need to do two things:
- Call 1-800-678-3669 and rent an Updater (part #R6311VP2) for $20 plus shipping.
- Download the latest Vantage Pro2 Wireless Console Firmware. Follow the Updater instructions for details on uploading the firmware into your console.
Vantage Pro
If your Vantage Pro has firmware dated November 20, 2006, your console is aware of the new daylight savings schedule. As long as your console is set to "Daylight Savings - Auto," the console will display the correct time following the new standard.
If your Vantage Pro has firmware dated earlier than November 20, 2006 you will need to do two things:
- Call 1-800-678-3669 and rent an Updater (part #6311VP2) for $20 plus shipping.
- Download the latest Vantage Pro Console Firmware, November 20, 2006. Follow the Updater instructions for details on uploading the firmware into your console.
Note: These instructions apply to the Envoy and cabled product lines as well. However, make sure you go to the proper link to download your Envoy or cabled firmware.
WeatherLink Software
Console firmware is critical to getting the time changed appropriately. The console time will also affect all data downloaded into the WeatherLink software. Additionally, the WeatherLink software package has some changes affecting the sunrise sunset report and proper calculation of THSW. If these two items are of concern to you, you should download the WeatherLink software version 5.7.1 update.
